I can confidently say that 2023 was far better than I imagined.
There were lows: being hospitalized most of Feb/March, sepsis over the summer, MALS surgery, and having another port placed.
But there were amazing highs: traveling with my family to Nantucket and NYC, beginning my freshman year of college, volunteering in the Norris lab, and finally gaining the ability to drink & drain and to walk unassisted.
Friendly reminder, it’s okay if the only thing you did this year was survive. That itself is an accomplishment you should be proud of. Thank you for being such a supportive community to me this year!
